Overview
A row of identical switches by the door, and nobody remembers which one does what. Hotel guests press everything to find the bedside light. In a care home, residents and staff need the same simple controls in every room. At home, you would rather have one tidy switch than three separate plates.
The Loxone Touch is a smart light switch that puts the most-used functions of a room on one slim panel, in the same layout everywhere: a large centre zone for the lighting and four corner zones for blinds and music.
What it does
Five touch points control lighting, shading and music, each with a soft audible click as confirmation. A built-in sensor measures room temperature and humidity and reports it to the Miniserver, so the same switch also helps heating and ventilation respond to the conditions in that room.
Because the layout is the same in every room, guests, residents and staff quickly know where to touch, and functions can be changed centrally in the software rather than by swapping hardware.
Good to know
Tree or Air: Tree is wired and needs no battery; Air is wireless and runs on a coin cell.
Touch Air clips onto its supplied wall frame and needs no electrical work. Touch Tree is connected as part of the building’s Tree cabling, which our installation partner can take care of. If the switch is fitted over a back box in the UK, use a European-style round one: on a standard UK pattress box the corners can sit loose. Touch Air should not be fitted on a metal back box, which weakens the radio signal and shortens battery life. Available in White and Anthracite.
You can order it here. If you prefer, The Automation House can also advise on it, plan it and supply it as part of a complete solution, with installation and aftercare arranged through our installation partner.

Pros & cons
Our view on this product
What we like
- The same clear layout in every room, which helps guests, residents and staff
- Temperature and humidity sensor built in, so the switch also acts as the room’s climate sensor
- Wired (Tree) or wireless (Air), so it suits new builds as well as existing buildings
- Functions are set in software and can be changed later
Worth knowing
- Over a back box it needs a European-style round box rather than a standard UK pattress box
- Touch Air runs on a CR2450 coin cell that will need replacing; Loxone does not state the battery life, but the battery level is shown in the system
- Five touch points only; rooms with many functions may need a second control
