Terms of service
Last updated: 24 October 2026
These terms apply to your use of theautomationhouse.co.uk and to every order you place with us. Please read them before ordering. They should be read together with our Refund Policy, Shipping Policy and Privacy Policy.
1. About us
This website is operated by The Automation House, a trading name of Arran Group Limited, a company registered in Scotland with company number SC898043, registered office Dippin Lodge, Dippen, Isle of Arran, Scotland, KA27 8RN. Contact: Contact us. We are an authorised Loxone partner supplying Loxone smart-home and building automation products to consumers and trade customers in the UK.
2. Consumers and business customers
Some parts of these terms apply differently depending on whether you are a consumer (buying wholly or mainly for purposes outside your trade, business, craft or profession) or a business customer. Where a clause applies to only one group, it says so. Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer.
3. Using our website
You may use our website for lawful purposes only. You must not misuse it, attempt to gain unauthorised access to it, or introduce malicious code. We may suspend or change the website at any time. Product images and descriptions are for guidance; minor variations in appearance may occur. If you open an account, keep your login details confidential.
4. Orders and how the contract is formed
Your order is an offer to buy. After you place it, we will email you to acknowledge it; this does not mean your order has been accepted. The contract between you and us is formed when we email you to confirm that your order has been accepted or dispatched, whichever is earlier. We may decline an order, for example if an item is unavailable, if we cannot deliver to your address, or if there is an obvious pricing error. If we decline an order after you have paid, we will refund you in full.
Some Loxone products are supplied only for installation by competent persons. We may ask trade customers to confirm their business details, and we may limit quantities.
5. Prices and payment
Prices are shown in pounds sterling. Arran Group Limited is not registered for VAT. Delivery charges are shown at checkout.
If we discover an error in the price of goods you have ordered, we will contact you to ask whether you wish to continue at the correct price or cancel. Where a pricing error is obvious and could reasonably have been recognised by you, we do not have to supply the goods at the incorrect price.
Payment is due in full at the time of order unless we have agreed credit terms with a business customer in writing. For business customers on credit terms, invoices are payable within the period stated on the invoice; we may charge interest and compensation on late payments under the Late Payment of Commercial Debts (Interest) Act 1998 and may suspend deliveries while an account is overdue.
6. Delivery, risk and ownership
We currently deliver to addresses in Great Britain (England, Scotland and Wales) only; we do not yet deliver to Northern Ireland. Orders are delivered directly to you by our supplier, the manufacturer's UK distribution centre, on our behalf; we remain responsible to you for your order. Delivery times and charges are set out in our Shipping Policy. Delivery estimates are not guaranteed, but if we fail to deliver a consumer order within 30 days (or any date we have agreed as essential), you may treat the contract as at an end and receive a full refund.
For consumers, the goods are your responsibility from the time they are delivered to you or to someone you nominate. For business customers, risk passes on delivery to the delivery address. Ownership of the goods passes to you when we have received payment in full.
7. Cancellation, returns and faulty goods
Consumers have a statutory right to cancel most orders within 14 days, and rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 if goods are faulty or not as described. Business customers do not have a statutory cancellation right. Full details for both are in our Refund Policy.
8. Installation, compatibility and software
Loxone products are intended to be installed and configured by suitably competent persons. Any work on fixed electrical installations must be carried out by a qualified electrician in accordance with BS 7671 and applicable building regulations. You are responsible for checking that products are suitable and compatible with your project; we are happy to advise, but advice given without a site survey is provided as general guidance only.
Loxone software, apps and firmware are licensed by the manufacturer under its own licence terms, which you must accept and comply with. Online services provided by Loxone or other third parties are governed by their terms.
9. Our liability
If you are a consumer: we are responsible for loss or damage you suffer that is a foreseeable result of our breaking these terms or failing to use reasonable care and skill. We are not responsible for loss or damage that is not foreseeable. We supply products for domestic and private use; if you use them for commercial purposes, we have no liability to you for loss of profit, business, business interruption or business opportunity.
If you are a business customer: to the extent permitted by law, all terms implied by statute or common law are excluded except those implied by section 12 of the Sale of Goods Act 1979. We will not be liable for any loss of profits, revenue, business, goodwill or anticipated savings, or for any indirect or consequential loss, and our total liability in connection with any order is limited to the price paid for the goods in that order.
For everyone: nothing in these terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, for breach of the terms implied by section 12 of the Sale of Goods Act 1979, under Part 1 of the Consumer Protection Act 1987, or for anything else that cannot be limited or excluded by law, including your rights as a consumer under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.
10. Events outside our control
We are not liable for delays or failures caused by events outside our reasonable control, including severe weather, courier failures, supply shortages or delays by the manufacturer or our supplier. If such an event happens, we will contact you as soon as possible, and if delay is substantial you may cancel and receive a refund for goods not yet supplied.
11. Intellectual property
The content of this website is owned by us or our licensors. Loxone and related names and logos are trade marks of Loxone Electronics GmbH, used with permission as an authorised partner. You may not copy or reuse website content for commercial purposes without our written consent.
12. Personal data
We use your personal data as described in our Privacy Policy.
13. Complaints
If you have a complaint, please contact us and we will try to resolve it promptly.
14. Governing law and jurisdiction
These terms, and any dispute arising from them, are governed by Scots law, and the Scottish courts have jurisdiction. If you are a consumer living in England and Wales or Northern Ireland, you may also bring proceedings in your local courts, and you keep the benefit of any mandatory consumer protection provisions of the law of the part of the United Kingdom where you live.
15. General
We may update these terms from time to time; the terms in force when you place an order apply to that order. If any provision is found to be unenforceable, the rest remain in effect. A failure or delay by us in enforcing any right does not waive it. These terms do not give any rights to anyone other than you and us.
