Overview

The switches are fine and the wiring is fine; they just are not connected to anything clever. In a period home, a hotel being refreshed room by room, or a care home where walls cannot be opened up, replacing cabling is the last thing anyone wants.

The Loxone Nano IO Air is a small wireless smart relay that is installed in a flush or cavity wall back box. It connects to the Miniserver via Loxone Air, so lights, blinds and other loads can be automated without running new cables back to the distribution board.

What it does

Two outputs switch the supply voltage to connected loads such as lighting circuits, and six 24 V digital inputs take push buttons, switched by the module's own 24 V output, so lights and blinds can still be operated from the wall. A Loxone Touch, Touch Pure or NFC Code Touch for Nano (sold separately) can be fitted directly onto the module to create a complete smart wall control.

Central management, comfort and energy

  • Familiar for users: lights and blinds are still operated from push buttons on the wall, now as part of the wider system.
  • Automation where it helps: lights and blinds can follow schedules, presence or the weather.
  • Central overview: retrofitted circuits appear in the same app as the rest of the building.

Good to know

The Nano IO Air is powered from 110–230 V AC or 20–26 V DC and must be installed by a qualified electrician. It pairs with a Miniserver Go, or with a Miniserver and Air Base Extension.

You can order it here. If you prefer, The Automation House can also advise on it, plan it and supply it as part of a complete solution, with installation and aftercare arranged through our installation partner.
