Overview
A wired system that started with one house, one floor or one wing tends to grow: an extension is built, more rooms are added to the project, or a care home brings its second building onto the same system. At some point the Miniserver's own Tree connection reaches its limits.
The Loxone Tree Extension adds two further Loxone Tree branches to a Miniserver, so more wired switches, sensors, lighting and actuators can be connected across larger properties.
What it does
Each branch supports up to 50 Tree devices and up to 500 metres of cable. Loxone Tree can be wired in line, star or tree layouts, which can reduce the amount of cabling compared with traditional wiring where every device runs back to the board. Communication for security-related devices is encrypted, and the Extension includes diagnostics and can receive firmware updates.
Central management and reliability
- Scales with the building: add capacity without changing the core of the system.
- One system: everything connected to the Extension is managed from the same Miniserver and app.
- Easier maintenance: built-in diagnostics help find issues quickly.
Good to know
The Tree Extension connects to the Miniserver over Loxone Link and takes up just two modules on a DIN rail. It needs a 24 V DC supply (9–28 V DC). It can be added to any Miniserver with a Loxone Link interface, including the Miniserver Go, and is usually planned as part of a wider project.
You can order it here. If you prefer, The Automation House can also advise on it, plan it and supply it as part of a complete solution, with installation and aftercare arranged through our installation partner.
