Overview

The doorbell rings while you are upstairs, in the garden or away from home. At a care home, staff are with a resident when a visitor arrives at the main entrance. At a small hotel, a late guest arrives after reception has closed. In each case the question is the same: who is at the door, and can I let them in without walking there?

The Loxone Intercom is a video intercom and door entry system in a discreet 90 × 90 mm unit with a glass front. Visitors can be seen and spoken to from the Loxone app, wherever you are, and the door can be opened remotely.

What it does

A wide-angle HD camera covers the entrance, and a proximity sensor wakes the unit as someone approaches. The illuminated bell button guides visitors, and the microphone and loudspeaker are integrated behind the front, so it stays clean and uncluttered. Because it is part of the Loxone system, a ring at the door can also trigger other actions, such as switching on the entrance lighting, and every visit is stored locally with a photo in the visitor history.

Central management, comfort and security

  • Answer from anywhere: see and speak to visitors from the app or a touch panel.
  • Keyless access: an NFC Code Touch (sold separately) can be connected for code or tag entry; the Intercom can also be combined with a Touch Pure Flex.
  • Part of the building: entrance, lighting and access work together instead of as separate systems.

Good to know

The Intercom works with any Loxone Miniserver. It is powered over Ethernet (PoE, IEEE 802.3af Mode A), so a single network cable carries power and data, supplied by a Loxone PoE Injector (available separately) or a PoE Mode A capable switch. It is surface-mounted in an aluminium mounting bracket, available separately in single, double and triple versions. It is rated IP34; the Signal White version may be mounted in direct sunlight, but the Anthracite version must not be. Available in Signal White, Anthracite and Velvet White.

Signal White and Anthracite can be ordered here. Velvet White is currently available to pre-order only from Loxone UK; we will confirm the expected delivery date with you before dispatch. If you prefer, The Automation House can also advise on it, plan it and supply it as part of a complete solution, with installation and aftercare arranged through our installation partner.
