Because the alarm also reaches the Miniserver, the building can respond: lights can switch on and flash, blinds can open to clear escape routes, and an Audioserver can play an alarm tone. The battery level is reported to the system daily, so a low battery is flagged in good time.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eIts connection to the Miniserver is always monitored; because it is a safety device, this monitoring cannot be switched off.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003ch2\u003eGood to know\u003c\/h2\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThis detector supplements a fire alarm system to BS 5839; it does not replace one. Care homes, hotels and other non-domestic buildings need the fire alarm system set out in their fire risk assessment, normally designed to BS 5839-1, and in homes BS 5839-6 and the Building Regulations apply. It is not suitable for kitchens, bathrooms or other humid rooms, or near open fires and wood burners. It is battery powered, so it needs no electrical work, and connects wirelessly to a Miniserver Go or Miniserver Compact, or to a Miniserver with an Air Base Extension.
